NACCU Speedy Benchmark: Preferred Names

This Speedy Benchmark is brought to you by the NACCU Technology Research Committee. These quick, one-question surveys are designed to collect data that is important to our institutional or corporate members. The information learned will help guide future NACCU activities. 

The previous Speedy Benchmark pop-survey asked you about how your campus deals with Preferred Names on the campus credential. Thanks to all who took the time to share with us. Specifically, we asked what name is printed on your campus card with three response options. Here is what we learned:

• Of the 57 responses to this question, 33 campuses print only the Legal Name on the campus card.
• Fifteen campuses print both the Preferred Name and the Legal Name
• Only nine campuses that responded print strictly the Preferred Name.

Why did we want to ask this question?

This information helps us build knowledge so that when we are designing content, we are able to meet our members where they are and address questions early.
