–Mobile Credential: Does it really replace all my cards?Room 6With mobile-native students now in their college years, the transition from physical cards to mobile credentials on campus is well underway. Is it worth making the change to mobile credentials? Are there financial savings? Is it difficult to make the migration to a mobile phone and away from cards we can carry in our hands? In this session you will learn the answers to these questions and walk away better understanding why this solution just might be something your educational institution might want to consider. We will discuss near field communication (NFC) technology and how point of sale (POS) can be coupled with access control. One device can do it all and provide metadata as well. –Roundtable Discussion: The Campus Card’s Roles in New Student Orientation: Evaluating Effects of Participation and Non- ParticipationRoom 2The Cougar Card is a critical part of a student’s campus life. Our presentation session at New Student Orientation (NSO) highlighted essential information about the Cougar Card. All NSO students were required to attend the session. However, in the summer of 2023, the mandatory requirement was life and students no longer had to attend our session. No longer requiring the students to attend our presentation lead to a substantial decline in student attendance. In this roundtable discussion, Rosie Ashley and Daisy Del Fierro, will discuss the impact on card issuance, the communication strategy adjustments implemented, and how data was used to propose modifications to the NSO team.
