Meet Your NACCU Volunteers: Kate Somers
This is the latest installment of the NACCU series highlighting our association volunteers. NACCU provides programs and services to our members, many which would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of our volunteer leaders. Volunteers, whether they are a committee member, a Board member, or an onsite volunteer at a conference, are all important in making NACCU volunteer-driven programs an exceptional experience for our card industry peers.

Disney 2017
What is your favo(u)rite thing about volunteering with your NACCU committee?
As a newer member to this industry, volunteering with my NACCU committee helps me build connections and learn from my colleagues' knowledge and experience.
What show are you binge-watching right now?
The Crown (again... for the third time)
What is your go-to coffee / tea order?
None - I used to be a hardcore Diet Pepsi/Coke drinker but gave up all the caffeine and sweeteners nine months ago.
What is your favo(u)rite memory from your own student days?
Living in a haunted residence building (https://www.dal.ca/news/2013/10/23/ghostly-encounters.html)
What is one thing that would surprise people about you?
Public speaking absolutely terrifies me... but I spent the first eight years of my career recruiting for Dalhousie, so essentially I gave public speeches 3-6 times a day.
What is your favo(u)rite thing to do where you live?
Try new restaurants - Halifax is a small(ish) city but there's always somewhere new to experience.
