Meet Your NACCU Volunteers: Jan Montoya
November 15, 2021
This is the latest installment of the NACCU series highlighting our association volunteers. NACCU provides programs and services to our members, many which would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of our volunteer leaders. Volunteers, whether they are a committee member, a Board member, or an onsite volunteer at a conference, are all important in making NACCU volunteer-driven programs an exceptional experience for our card industry peers.

What is your role at your institution?
I am the Wildcard Program Manager at the University of Kentucky. I manage the Wildcard offices for Healthcare and Campus along with access control for all Medical Center facilities. I have been with the Police Department/ID Office for ten years.
Where was the first NACCU conference you attended?
My first NACCU conference was the virtual conference in 2021.
What is your favo(u)rite thing about volunteering with your NACCU committee?
My favorite thing is getting to know and work with other members of NACCU.
What show are you binge-watching right now?
I don't really "binge" watch TV, but I love The Great British Baking Show - I can't wait for the new episode to come out.
What is your go-to coffee / tea order?
My go-to order is any coffee - I only drink it black.
What is your favo(u)rite memory from when you were a student?
My favorite memories are the great times we had with our large group of friends. We were really into pranking each other. We moved everything, and I mean everything (even the blinds) out of our RA's room. At one point, I had the school mascot in my room until the President of the University sent an email requesting it be returned. Please know I wasn't the one that took it - I was just safe-keeping it. (I don't recommend this.) ;)
What is one thing that would surprise people about you?
I think it would surprise people to know we had a jeep and we loved to take it off-road and on road trips.
What is your most prized possession and why?
It would be anything from my grandmother and grandfather. (Her wedding band and sewing machine, and his Bible).
