WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, contribute to the safety and security of the campus, university property, faculty, staff, students and members of the community who enter the campus by overseeing campus access control operations. This includes the supervision of access control technicians and associated outside contractors, management of the access control systems and processes, coordination with campus constituents to provide expertise, the oversight of access control installations in renovation and new construction projects and the management of department inventory of system hardware.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Oversee and support Access Control Technicians with the implementation of approved physical security system hardware, which may include access control, intrusion detection devices and other related systems.
- Coordinate as needed on-site, campus-wide with internal and external partners for physical security system installation projects.
- Configure security systems for new and updated access control locations.
- Liaison with campus customers both internal and external via email or phone to provide updates as needed on projects/repairs.
- Attend meetings to consult on access control projects.
- Document access control system design, locations and interfaces.
- Conduct user training.
