Meet your NACCU Volunteers: Julie Bannister
Meet your NACCU Volunteers:
Julie Bannister
This is the latest installment of the NACCU series highlighting our association volunteers. NACCU provides programs and services to our members, many which would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of our volunteer leaders. Volunteers, whether they are a committee member, a Board member, or an onsite volunteer at a conference, are all important in making NACCU volunteer-driven programs an exceptional experience for our card industry peers.

Name: Julie Bannister
School: University of Pittsburgh
Volunteer Role: Professional Development Committee
What is your role at your institution?
As the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Auxiliary Services, I oversee and provide strategic guidance for six departments and approximately 60 full-time employees within Pitt's Business, Hospitality and Auxiliary Services (BHAS) division.
When did you join NACCU?
The University of Pittsburgh has been a member of NACCU since 2000.
What do you like about volunteering with NACCU?
I love the unique opportunities NACCU provides to connect with colleagues from other universities, share experiences, and learn from one another. Engaging with industry professionals allows me to stay informed about emerging trends and best practices, which I can bring back to my own institution. It's rewarding to be part of a community that is dedicated to innovation and collaboration in campus card technology services.
Have you ever been told you look like someone famous, and if so, who was it?
Unfortunately, no!
If you could bring back any fashion trend, what would it be?
I would love to bring back leggings and oversize sweaters. (I am still rocking it!)
If aliens landed on Earth tomorrow and offered to take you home with them, would you go?
No! I would not want to leave my friends and family! Would they take us all!?!?!?!
If you were independently wealthy and didn't have to work, what would you do with your time?
I would travel! There are so many amazing places in the United States that I would love a chance to see. I want to take an RV and tour the country without having a timetable!
