Meet your NACCU Volunteers: Megan Luechtefeld

Your NACCU Volunteers,

Meet your NACCU Volunteers:
Megan Luechtefeld

This is the latest installment of the NACCU series highlighting our association volunteers. NACCU provides programs and services to our members, many which would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of our volunteer leaders. Volunteers, whether they are a committee member, a Board member, or an onsite volunteer at a conference, are all important in making NACCU volunteer-driven programs an exceptional experience for our card industry peers.

Campus Card Information

Name: Megan Luechtefeld

School: Washington University in St. Louis

Volunteer Role: Engagement Committee

What is your role at your institution?

I am the manager of the University Services Center. I oversee the campus card office, issuance of parking permits and public transit passes, and general customer service for both IDs and parking.

When did you join NACCU?

I joined NACCU in 2024 when our offices merged with campus card, and I became manager of the team.

What do you like about volunteering with your NACCU committee?

I like learning about the credential side, and I enjoy all the people I have met so far. It has been a super eye-opening experience volunteering with NACCU and learning that there is more to an ID than just a piece of plastic.

What fictional family would you like to be a member of?

I don't know if there is a family I would choose to be a member of, but I would definitely love to be a member of the Ghostbloods from Brandon Sanderson's fiction work... because being an interstellar space spy sounds like the coolest thing ever.

What would your superpower be and why?

My superpower would be controlling the weather. I always loved Storm from X-Men, and it would be cool to make it rain or have the sun come out when I wanted.

If you had a time machine, would you go back in time or into the future?

This question is a fond one in my family, and we've debated it many times. I would have to say I would like to go to the past. I would like to see America before European colonization. I think it would be so interesting to learn about the cultures that thrived here.

If you could learn one new personal skill, what would it be?

I recently began to teach myself to crochet and I am loving fiber arts. I think it would be really cool to learn how to sew and tailor my own clothes.

We hope you enjoyed learning a little about Megan! Please look for a new edition of "Meet Your NACCU Volunteers" soon.
