Applications Now Accepted for LEAP!
Nothing is more important to the health and sustainability of an association than getting highly qualified people to serve in volunteer and leadership roles. Are you ready to make the LEAP to a significant leadership role in NACCU?
LEAP (Leadership and Effectiveness in Association Practices) is a program designed to prepare volunteer leaders for future national leadership positions or for the NACCU Board of Directors. If you are contemplating a run for the NACCU Board of Directors someday, or you want to learn more about how a non-profit association runs, you are encouraged to apply to LEAP.
LEAP is an 8-month program designed to help participants gain an understanding of association governance, and how NACCU operates within the higher education association environment. While participation in LEAP is not required for board candidacy, the knowledge gained in the program will enhance your perspective no matter what leadership path you choose.
Only self-applications will be considered. You must be a NACCU institutional member to apply. There is no cost to participate in the LEAP program, but participants must make a commitment to attend all sessions. LEAP is limited to 10 participants.
Session topics may include:
- Non-profit and association management
- Association Governance
- Partnership and Decision Making
- Trends in Higher Education
- Characteristics of a Successful Board Member
- The Roles of the Board and Association Staff
- The Leader's Mindset
- Associations and Change Management
Applications will be accepted through Friday, August 25.
