  • Position Summary

    Under the direction of the Housing Safety Physical Security Systems Manager, the Access Control Systems Administrator is responsible for providing technical support of Housing Operations and Safety databases programs. Major duties include maintaining electronic physical security databases, assisting in upgrades and installations as necessary, preparing reports and performing analysis and audits of electronic physical security database programs such as, but not limited to: Onity, Salto, Blackboard and/or Key Watcher. As a key operator, help train departmental staff on proper usage and operation standards, assist in trouble shooting minor technical issues with electronic physical security hardware and database. Act as a liaison with University and Housing IT departments, and manage related supplies.

    Qualifications

  • Demonstrated working experience with database programs, spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail, and calendars. (Required)
  • Knowledge of basic computer networking. - Can be trained (Preferred)
  • Skill in analyzing operating procedures and data to recommend necessary changes or trends consistent with accepted analytical practices. Ability to analyze and define administrative and technical problems, identifying relevant factors, recognizing alternatives and formulating conclusions. (Required)
  • Organizational skills to manage workflow and establish a harmonious and productive environment. Ability to set goals and priorities, which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities, when faced with fluctuating workloads, demanding deadlines and competing requirements. (Required)
  • Working knowledge in customer service, accounting, receivable, and payables management. Working knowledge of physical security programs such as, but not limited to: Onity, Salto, Blackboard, and/or Key Watcher. (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite products. (Required)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, coworkers, and other University personnel and interact diplomatically with a diversified public. Ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively as a team member. Ability to perform duties independently and with a great degree of accuracy, while meeting established deadlines. Skill in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet project deadlines and periods. (Required)
  • Ability to learn concepts quickly and to apply this knowledge to other job functions. (Required)
  • Ability to accept equivocal circumstances and take action where answers to a problem are not readily apparent. (Required)
  • Skill in speaking concisely and logically, using grammatically correct language to convey information and explain policies and procedures in a professional manner. Experience in writing routine business correspondence, operating procedures, performance evaluations and presentation materials using grammatically correct language. (Required)
  • Ability to report to work on time as assigned and dressed professional. (Required)
  • Ability to drive a University vehicle when necessary. (Preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
