Committee Volunteer Roles
Serve, Connect, and Help Shape NACCU
Committee volunteer roles are a wonderful way to become a more involved in NACCU and make a lasting impact. These opportunities allow members to work alongside peers, share ideas, and support important initiatives that help strengthen the association and serve the campus credential community.
Serving on a committee is also a great way to build connections, grow professionally, and contribute your experience in a meaningful way. For members looking for an ongoing role, committee service offers a rewarding way to stay engaged and help move NACCU forward.
Committee Descriptions
Engagement
With NACCU staff, promotes member involvement and retention through new initiatives such as NACCU NetworX and provides ongoing support for programs like the Conference Mentor Program.
NACCU Ambassadors
With NACCU staff, develops strategies to actively recruit new and past members to join the association and encourages current members to promote the association to potential institutions and vendors.
Professional Development
With NACCU staff, drives and develops the educational program for the Annual Conference, special projects, web conferences, and other educational initiatives.
Volunteer Development
With NACCU staff, develops processes and initiatives for application, selection, training, and recognition of NACCU volunteers.

Flexible Ways to Get Involved and Make a Difference
Short-term or project-based volunteer roles are a great option for members who want to support NACCU in ways that fit their schedule, interests, and availability. These opportunities make it easy to contribute your time and talents through individual projects, event support, mentoring, content development, and more.
These flexible roles are especially helpful for members who may be new to volunteering or unable to make a longer term commitment. Not matter the size of the role, every contribution helps strengthen the NACCU community and supports the important work we do together.

How Do I Sign Up?
NACCU accepts volunteer applications throughout the year. While the majority of volunteer and committee appointments will happen immediately following the annual conference, there is always the potential that a vacancy arises or a new opportunity comes about. FAQ
What is the length of a committee term?
A committee term is two years once appointed.
What if I change institutions?
If you change institutions, you will still continue in your volunteer role with NACCU as long as you are employed by a NACCU member institution.
What if I need to step down?
We realize that sometimes circumstances arise where you are unable to complete your volunteer term on a committee. Should that occur, please reach out to Terry Lawyer, NACCU Volunteer Experience and Learning Coordinator, to advise her of the change. NACCU will always welcome you back when you are able to volunteer again.
What are the requirements to apply to serve on the Board?
Board applications use a separate application and are solicited in the fall each year. While we have minimum qualifications below, each application is reviewed and evaluated based on a rubric that rubric supports an equitable, transparent, and readiness-based evaluation process. The rubric provides a guide to measure engagement, competencies, and application responses. The applications whose scores are above those of an emerging leader and can be classified as a qualified, strong candidate can be moved to the slate.
In order to serve on the NACCU Board of Directors, you must meet these following minimum qualifications:
- Must be listed as a contact for a NACCU institutional member in good standing
- Three years or more experience in the campus identification/transaction industry
- Three years or more experience with NACCU including serving at least one successful years as a member on a NACCU committee
- Have attended at least one NACCU Annual Conference
