Carson City, Lake Tahoe and Truckee Tour with Lunch

8:45am – 4:00pm

Fee: $135
Guest tickets: $135

Guests will be transported from Reno along US 395 to Carson City.  Guests will enjoy learning about the rich history of Northern Nevada as they travel through Washoe Valley into the State Capitol, Carson City.  Our Convention Activities guide will narrate and point out interesting sights along the way.

The ‘Nevada State Museum of Mint’ built originally as a U.S. Mint, which operated from 1870 to 1895.  Today the museum is known for exhibits ranging from Dat So La Lee Washoe Indian baskets to Nevada natural history to Coin Press No.

It’s on to Highway 50 over Spooner Summit to explore Lake Tahoe!

There will be shorts stops along the shore of Lake Tahoe going up Highway 28 to enjoy taking pictures and looking at the scenery.  Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It is located along the border between California and Nevada, west of Carson City.  Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in the United States. Its depth is 514 m making it America’s second-deepest.  The lake is known for the clarity of its water and the panorama of surrounding mountains on all sides. It has a maximum depth of 1,640 feet, trailing only to Oregon’s Crater Lake.

Guests will stop at a Tahoe City restaurant for lunch. After a quick bite, guests will have a bit of time to look around Tahoe City and our guide will be available to walk guests down to the Watson Cabin along the lake shore.

Then it’s on to Highway 267 to discover the Famous Donner Party!

The memorial at Donner Summit is a great way to learn more of the infamous Donner Party. They were one of the early wagon trains coming across the country attempting to reach California. They ran into severe weather conditions and spent a desperate winter on the shores of Donner Lake.  Guests can view the museum and enjoy sites and paraphernalia detailing this historic episode.

Mentor Program

The Mentor Program is available to all first-time conference attendees. If you would like a mentor to help you navigate through the conference and make connections with other attendees, please attend the Mentor/Assigned Meet and Greet on Sunday, April 22.

At the the Mentor/Assigned Attendee Meet and Greet at 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 22, you will meet other first-timers and mentors, and will go on to the Opening Reception as a group.

If you are interested in participating in the Mentor Program, by volunteering as a mentor, or as a first-time attendee, please indicate your interest on the NACCU 2018 registration form.

Thank you to our volunteers who make this program successful!

Opening Reception - EDGE Nightclub

NACCU will be taking over the EDGE Nightclub at the Peppermill for our opening reception on the evening of Sunday, April 22. 1920's style meets 2020 tech at this dramatic indoor/outdoor venue. A striking entry way welcomes you in to an "ultra-lounge" and just beyond, the main nightclub and dance floor and a beautiful outdoor patio.

If this is your first time attending a NACCU conference and you are nervous about walking into a nightclub full of people you don't know, please take advantage of the mentor program, where you'll meet veteran mentor volunteers and other first-time attendees and go into the opening reception as a group.

The Opening Reception will be held at The Edge nightclub in the Peppermill Tower, from 7:00PM - 8:30PM.

Wear your colors! Show your school or card program pride by wearing logo gear and sports team wear.

Tapingo will be on site to take your drink orders digitally! More info on this service coming soon.

Guest tickets are available for $50 if you are traveling with a guest. Contact Janice at to add a guest ticket to your conference registration.

NACCU Night Out!

End your conference experience with an exciting evening of celebration. Strike up some fun with your fellow conference attendees at Reno's National Bowling Stadium!

The only stadium of its kind in the entire world, the National Bowling Stadium (NBS) brings the classic sport of bowling to the exciting landscape of downtown Reno. You can split your time between the museum and entertainment including photo ops, caricature artists and live music, view the expansive competition lanes (and possibly watch some championship play). Oh, and you can also take your turn at bowling in the Kingpin Club! NBS staff will be available to help novice or skilled bowlers (if you want).

There will be delicious food, beverages, and plenty of seating to spare.

Buses leave for the NBS at 6:30pm and will return to the Peppermill throughout the evening (we don’t want to pin you down). The last bus leaves NBS at 9:00pm.

This event is included in your full conference registration. Guest tickets to this event are available at $50 each. Contact Janice at to add a guest ticket to your conference registration.

Fun Fact: The National Bowling Stadium is where Bill Murray threw three strikes in a row and Woody Harrelson bowled with a rubber hand in the movie "Kingpin".

Campus Tour – University of Nevada Reno (with optional airport drop-off)   Fee: $60

The fee to add the campus tour to your conference registration is only $60.

Grab breakfast to go, then board the bus for the University of Nevada Reno. Arrive at the Crowley Student Union and tour the WolfCard Office and UNR bookstore. Campus Ambassadors and WolfCard staff will lead the tour around campus, including stops at the new campus recreation building, new library, and new student services building. Walk through the Quad and along the shore of Manzanita Lake. The bus will stop at Reno/Tahoe airport by 11:30AM, before returning to the Peppermill Resort by 12:00PM.

Bring your conference badge with you to board the bus.
Bring your luggage if you’re taking advantage of the airport drop after the tour.
