Top 15 Reasons to Present
a Session at
NACCU 2020!

It's fun! You will feel proud and exhilarated once you've finished your presentation.

You will make connections with others who are interested in learning about and discussing the topic you are presenting

You get a cool presenter ribbon to wear on your name badge at the conference.

Those who attend your session can become a part of your professional network.

A successful conference depends on quality educational sessions. Help make NACCU 2020 great by sharing your ideas and successes.

Sharing at the conference will help to advance the entire card industry.

Presenting a session helps build confidence and you will hone your leadership skills and become better at public speaking.

If your proposal is chosen for the conference, up to $250 is discounted off your conference registration, depending on number of presenters and length of session.

Where else can you talk to a room full of adults who really understand what you do every day?

Others in the community - and on your campus - will begin to view you as an expert and leader in your field.

You will inspire others to take what they learned and build better card programs. Your experience will directly impact others in a positive way.

If public speaking isn't your thing, keep in mind that you aren't presenting to all 600 attendees - just a small meeting room full of people eager to learn what you have to share. Still too intimidating? Reach out to one of your vendors, coworkers, or another school to co-present with you.

Leading a presentation at a national conference is a huge achievement to add to your resume

Are you requesting approval to attend the conference? Strengthen that request by explaining that you have applied to present. Demonstrate to your supervisors that not only are you serious about attending NACCU 2020 and learning as much as you can, but you also plan to elevate your card program and school's reputation by representing all that you are doing to build your campus community.

You will have the opportunity to share the successes within your card program. Don't keep your hours of research, learning what works (and what doesn't), and your outcomes to yourself. Share with the community! You will be glad you did!

Intrigued? Here is what to do next!

1. Complete the presentation proposal by October 7. You'll need a title, description, and presenter information.

2. If your proposal is chosen, you'll receive an email from Jörrun Liston, our NACCU Education Director, with a contract and a list of all your upcoming deadlines.

3. Build your PowerPoint presentation, and keep NACCU in the loop so we can promote your session in the program and on the website.

4. Bring your laptop and your smiling face to your assigned room 15 minutes before your time slot. If you need assistance, you'll have a moderator in the room with you, and of course, Jörrun and the NACCU board and staff are available before and during the conference if you have questions.

5. That's it! Then it is just a matter of sharing what you have created with those in the room! You can do this!
