As you prepare to attend NACCU 2019, please read through this information to ensure the best possible experience while at the conference. Also, please follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook, as we will be sharing photos and information before and throughout the conference.

There is no official dress code for the conference. You'll see everything from flip flops to full business suits. But most attendees wear business casual attire. You probably want to bring a light jacket or sweater to sessions with you in case meeting rooms are chilly. Be sure to also bring some comfortable shoes for the NACCU Fun Walk/Run.
Bring logo clothing to wear to the opening reception on Sunday night. Sunday is Wear your Colors! day - show off your school's colors, sports team, or even your card office logo! Sweatshirt, hat, jersey, jacket, T-shirt - whatever you want to wear to show off your school!
The average high temperature in April is 60 degrees with an average low around 39 degrees. There is also a chance of rain during this time of year. Review the current weather and forecast here.

In-room access is included with your room reservation, if you reserved your room under the NACCU room block.

Upon arrival at the NACCU registration desk, you will receive:

Your badge, which you will need for ALL conference events and sessions, including off-site tours. Your badge will include a bar code, which will be used to scan you into events and sessions.
Badges for your guest(s) if you purchased guest ticket(s).
Any badge ribbons that apply to you. Please affix your ribbon(s) to the bottom of your badge pouch.
A ticket to enter the prize drawing in the exhibit hall. Bring it to the NACCU booth on Wednesday morning, and throw it in the tumbler.
The following items are optional. We have received feedback that some attendees wish to pass on receiving these items, in order to be green or because they are not needed. If you do not want one or more of these items, please decline during registration check-in.

NACCU Mobile Event App
You can use the mobile event app to schedule your conference experience, complete session evaluations, look up other attendees, share photos and videos, and more! We suggest you choose more than one education session in the event your first choice is full.
You should have received an invitation from Pathable (our app provider) to login to the app and create your profile on March 22, 2019. If you cannot find it, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to have it resent.

If you are traveling with unregistered guest(s), here are a few tips to make sure they know what to expect.
You are welcome to use NACCU's twitter feed to organize meet-ups for conference attendees as well as guests. Use and follow hashtag #naccu.
Guest tickets are available for the Opening Reception andNACCU Carnival, but space is limited. Guest tickets can be purchased online, or at the On-Site Registration window at the conference registration desk. You may also purchase these guest tickets through Janice at email@example.com. Guest tickets are limited.
Unregistered guests will not have access to NACCU 2019 conference events, except as outlined above.
The Mentor Program for First-Time Attendees
The Mentor Program is available to and recommended for all first-time conference attendees. If you would like a mentor to help guide you through the conference and help you make connections with other attendees, please please contact John at firstname.lastname@example.org and attend the Mentor/Mentee Meet and Greet on Sunday at 6:00PM in Room 23.
At the Meet and Greet, you will meet other first-timers and mentors, and will go on to the Opening Reception as a group, alleviating the experience of walking into the Opening Reception knowing nobody.

On Sunday, April 7, there will be pre-Opening Reception meet and greets for the following attendees:
Canadian and International Attendees: 5PM, Room 27
Mentor/Mentee: 6PM, Room 23

The Opening Reception will begin at 7PM.
Guest tickets are available for $50 if you are traveling with a guest. Contact Janice at email@example.com to add a guest ticket to your conference registration.

We will be offering two themed breakfasts to help you in connecting with other attendees you share common interests with!
On Monday, you'll have Breakfast by Card/Transaction System Provider. Tables will be labeled with the most common vendor logos so you can easily find your system (there will also be a table for those of you with in-house systems.) If your vendor isn't included, grab an open table and start one of your own - let NACCU staff know and we can put a sign up for you.
On Tuesday, we'll sit by regions. This will allow you to connect with those in your area. The regions are split as such:
Eastern – CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VA, VT, WV
Northern – IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, OH, SD, WI
Western – AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, MT, NM, NV, OK, OR, UT, WA, WY
All of Canada is under CANADA
International – anybody outside of US and Canada
If you prefer NOT to participate, there will be open, unmarked tables at both breakfasts.
NACCU Fun Walk/Run
NACCU is excited to invite you to our annual Fun Walk/Run at 6:30AM on Tuesday, April 9. Please join us, even if you have no experience. It's all about having fun and starting the day with high energy. Those who attend the Fun Walk/Run will receive a T-shirt as a memento. The Fun Walk/Run is sponsored by Atrium.
Tuesday Annual Business Meeting
At the 2019 Annual Business Meeting, you'll participate in the confirmation of the President-Elect, vote on changes to the Bylaws, and observe the "exchanging of the gavel" as the outgoing Board President hands the reins to the incoming President. You'll approve last year's meeting minutes and review NACCU's financial position. These files will be available as handouts in the mobile app under the event "Annual Business Meeting".
You'll also be among the first to know the dates and locations of our first NACCU Near You events, which will be announced.

Session Categorization & Seating
Educational sessions are categorized using NACCU's Core Competencies for the Campus Card Professional.
Proficiency in these competencies will enable campus card professionals to demonstrate expertise and gain a higher level of recognition on their respective campuses and industry wide. The Core Competencies form the foundation for future endeavors as NACCU frames professional development activity, establishes standards of practice and helps guide individual career development for campus card professionals.

In addition, sessions are categorized by level: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. These levels will assist you in scheduling sessions that are right for you.
Session Attendance and Seating:
We recommend bringing a sweater or light jacket to sessions as meeting rooms can be chilly.
If it is important to you to attend a specific session, be sure to arrive early to ensure you get a seat. We also encourage you to please take a seat near the front of the room, so that latecomers can slip into the back seats.

Close out the conference at the NACCU Carnival! Enjoy an evening of carnival fun with your fellow attendees before you head back home. Enjoy carnival-style foods and beverages, game booths, caricature artists, magicians, old time and green screen photo booths, psychic readers, a medicine man show, and a DJ with trivia and karaoke. This is sure to be a NACCU night to remember!
Monday Afternoon Optional Tour
Central Connecticut State University Campus Tour $40
Please join us as we visit the Blue Chip card office located in the newly renovated Willard-DiLoreto hall. This building houses most student services found on campus and has a large central atrium. From there we will walk across our tree-filled campus to the Student Center to visit our largest retail dining location. This dining area was remodeled during the summer of 2017. Part of the remodeling process involved the removal of cash registers at each food concept. They were replaced with a kiosk ordering system that integrates into our point of sales system. From there we will head over to the campus bookstore at the other end of the Student Center. Finally, time permitting, we will visit Burritt library and the Starbucks on campus.
