A message from the
President of the NACCU Board of Directors:
As NACCU prepares to celebrate our 25th anniversary as an association this Spring in Reno, I have to think back to my first contact with a campus “One Card”.
It was 1986. I was a wide eyed freshman at Appalachian State University and had just been handed my “App Card”. It was my key to campus life; little did I know it was my key to a career and lifelong passion.
Because of the tools and experiences I have gained through this community we call NACCU, I am fortunate today to lead the Auxiliary Services Division at Mercer University and serve this year as President of our association.
The formation of many of our campus card programs was honestly quite simple; we were tasked with providing a credential to support campus life. Today, we continue to provide the credentials that transform our communities by enhancing the campus experience. However, as programs have evolved, we are now seen as enterprise-level mission critical systems on our campuses.
We as an association and industry continue to be on the forefront of technology, always striving to do just little bit more. As technology has changed, we have moved along with it. Using new and enhanced technologies, our programs process millions of transactions annually for students all over the world. We are the key to campus commerce, safety, and security, while providing convenience to help our students and campuses thrive.
NACCU over the years has helped us all navigate the one thing constant in life: CHANGE. NACCU is more than just an association; it is a community that supports each other, celebrates the successes of our membership, and is always there to lend a hand.
If you haven’t already done so, I hope you will make plans to celebrate with us in Reno April 22nd –25th as we celebrate 25 years of NACCU. We look forward to looking back at where we have been while charging forward into the future!
Our 25th Annual Conference provides you the opportunity to advance your knowledge of our ever changing industry, see old friends, meet new friends, and expand the “NACCU network”. Hope to see you all there!
President, NACCU Board of Directors
