NACCU New Member Highlight:
Cégep de Trois-Rivières
In this New Member Highlight, we hear from Billy Angers with NACCU member Cégep de Trois-Rivières.
What is your position/title?
IT Project Manager
How long have you been at your institution?
It’s been 13 years since I joined Cégep de Trois-Rivières.
What are you most hoping to gain from joining the NACCU community?
We are in it mostly for the networking. My first contact with NACCU was at the 2019 Canadian Campus Card Conference. I’ve been made aware of this group by a partner only 3 weeks before the event. I’ve attended this conference and we have been delighted by the richness of this community.
Are you considering moving to the mobile credential? If not, what is the next planned initiative for your campus card program?
We are certainly looking closely to the mobile credential trend, but we are not concretely investing this way right now.
What is one feature you wish you could add to your campus card program?
What drives us is to have a single campus card for all usage. Our second principle is to keep the entire ownership of the card and applications. We are actually in the very process of integrating Digital ID, Bus transportation, Printing, Library and Access control. What we would like in the future is to add more third party integration.
What system(s) platforms does your campus card program use?
We actually develop around the Mifare DESfire family. As of today, we do not use any software integration platform. All of them are done in-house with Mifare programming and links to our SIS and other management platforms.
Does your program have social media links? If so, share so we can follow you!
Nothing specific. We are an IT department who manage the digital side of the card among other projects.
We hope you enjoyed learning a little about Billy and Cégep de Trois-Rivières as we officially welcome them to the NACCU community!
