Managers Will Serve
at 2008 Summer Olympic Games
in Beijing, China
Macon, Georgia —
Mercer Dining Services is proud to announce Location
Manager Marie Gilmour and Catering Manager Deena
Wallace will serve on the ARAMARK team at the 2008
Summer Olympic Games in Beijing from July 7 – August
31.
ARAMARK has been chosen by the Beijing Organizing
Committee for the Olympic Games to provide catering
services for the Olympic Village, two Media Centers,
and two Media Villages during the Olympics and
Paralympics. Beijing will mark the 14th
time ARAMARK has been chosen to serve the world’s
Olympic athletes at the Summer and Winter Olympics.
For this year’s event, ARAMARK chefs have created a
“World Menu” of over 800 recipes. The menu will
celebrate the Chinese culture and cuisine. The
“World Menu” will offer healthy dishes and nutrition
guidance to fuel the performances of a lifetime.
While in Beijing,
Marie Gilmour will serve as a Hazard Analysis
Critical Control Point Manager (HACCP) on the
ARAMARK team. Her responsibilities include
production flow, ingredient control, staff training
and general start-up planning.
“I am thrilled to
have the opportunity to serve on the ARAMARK team
for the Summer Olympics. It’s a great opportunity
not only professionally but also personally. I
can’t wait to go,” said Gilmour, who leaves on July
7 for Beijing.
Deanna Wallace,
who left on June 12, is serving as a Facilities
Manager on the ARAMARK team. Wallace will help with
managing Chinese employees and also making sure all
venues are held to standards set by ARAMARK and the
China Board of Tourism.
Macon State Food
Service Director, Mandy Palik will also serve on the
ARAMARK team. Palik, who leaves on June 30, will
serve as an Operations Manager for the Athlete’s
Village.
ARAMARK Higher
Education is the food service provider for Mercer
University, Macon State College, Wesleyan College
and Central Georgia Tech located in Macon.
