Board Election Process 2016-2017

The NACCU President selects a Nominating Committee consisting of the President (who serves as Chair), the President Elect, the Immediate Past President, and one additional member from the Board who is not eligible for re-election during the current year.

The 2016-2017 Nominating Committee is Jessica Bender, President (Chair), Ken Boyer, President Elect, and Scott Brannan.

A call for nominations for the Board of Directors was distributed August 30, 2016. The call was sent to the membership through standard communication channels including email, Facebook, Twitter, and the NACCU website. Nominations are to be submitted via a nomination form on the NACCU website and collected by the Executive Director.

An individual is eligible to become a Board Member, if they meet the following requirements:

  • They have at least three years of NACCU and campus card industry participation;
  • They have attended at least one NACCU Annual Conference;
  • They have a minimum of one year NACCU Committee membership and service;
  • They have institutional support to serve as a volunteer Board member.

The call also notes that the Association encourages diversity (regarding major system providers, geographical location, type and size of institution, etc.) among its Board membership.

The deadline for nominations is Monday, September 19, 2016.

The Nominating Committee will contact each nominee and follow-up with an email to vet the nomination and request additional information that will be used to evaluate the nomination.

At the Fall Board meeting on October 24-26, the Nominating Committee will make a recommendation to the full Board for an election slate for the Board of Directors.

The nominees will be advised of their status shortly after the Board meeting

Candidates on the election slate will be asked to submit biographical information and a photo for the election process.

The online election will occur in November 2016.

The election results will be shared with all the candidates once the final results have been certified by the Board.

Those elected to the Board will be expected to attend the 2017 Annual Conference in Orlando. Their term will begin at the close of the 2017 conference and continue through the close of the 2020 conference.
