Distinguished Service Award
Deadline: February 1, 2017

Purpose of the DIstinguished Service Award:

The Distinguished Service Award (DSA) recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the campus card industry over the span of their career.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Member must be listed as a contact under a current institutional NACCU membership.

  • The Institutional Member’s institution is recognizable and a known institution by NACCU members, NACCU Awards Committee, and NACCU Corporate

  • Member must have worked in the campus card industry for more than 3 years.

Nomination Requirements:

All nominees must demonstrate contributions to the industry through a combination of any or all of the following:

  • Participation in the research and development of card related technologies

  • Development of solutions that have been shared with the industry

  • Membership on advisory boards

  • NACCU volunteer

  • Other professional association volunteer

  • Product testing

  • Involvement in industry activity that is above and beyond an individual’s job description

  • Demonstrated courage of her or his convictions to take a risk — a pioneering spirit

  • Published material

  • Presentations

  • At least one letter of support from a colleague who is also a member of NACCU – can be an Institutional or Corporate member (this will be used in presenting the award to the recipient)

Nomination

Nominees may be self-nominated or nominated by another NACCU Institutional member, or a NACCU Corporate member.  Nominees will be asked to submit letters of recommendation, accomplishments, and bios.

Award Results

The Awards Committee will evaluate and recommend the recipient of the award to the NACCU Board of Directors for final approval.  The recipient will be announced during the NACCU Annual Conference. The recipient of this award will receive a complimentary registration for the NACCU conference the following year.

New Professional Award
Deadline: February 1, 2017

Purpose of the New Professional Award

The New Professional Award (NPA) recognizes individuals who have made contributions to the campus card industry within the first five years of their career.

Eligibility for this award requires:

  • Member must be listed as a contact under a current institutional NACCU membership.

  • Member must have worked in the campus card industry for fewer than 5 years.

Nomination Requirements

All nominees must demonstrate contributions to the industry through a combination any or all of the following:

  • NACCU Conference attendance

  • New Professionals Institute attendance preferred, but not required

  • A letter of support from a colleague at their institution (faculty, staff, senior administrator, customer of the program, etc.) illustrating the nominee’s contribution to the success or enhancement of the program. This letter does not have to be from a supervisor; it could come from a department that works with the campus card program.

  • Various contributions to NACCU

    • Contribution of industry articles

    • Committee membership

    • Education session moderator

    • Education session presenter

    • Listserv participation

    • Mentorship program participation

    • Regional workshop attendance

    • Web conference attendance

    • Web content library contribution

Nominees may be self-nominated or nominated by another NACCU Institutional member, or a NACCU Corporate member.  Nominees will be asked to submit bio, letters of reference and accomplishments.

Award Results

The Awards Committee will evaluate and recommend the recipient of the award to the NACCU Board for approval for final approval.  The recipient will be announced during the NACCU Annual Conference. The recipient of this award will receive a complimentary registration to the NACCU conference for the following year.



Innovative Technology Award
Deadline: February 1, 2017

Purpose of the Innovative Technology Award

The Innovative Technology Award recognizes and celebrates the success of a NACCU Institutional Member that has implemented innovative uses of technology in support of services used by campus card programs.

Nomination

Nominees may be self-nominated or nominated by another NACCU member (as long as they are not on the Awards Committee), or a NACCU Corporate member.

Eligibility for the award requires:

The Institutional Member’s institution is a listed member of NACCU.

● The innovative technology implementation demonstrates merit as being innovative but viable and can be easily interpreted.

● The nomination must include a contact under a current institutional NACCU member

Nomination Requirements:

The nominated Institution representative must submit the materials outlined below.

● Describe the challenge and/or the opportunity

● Describe the concept of what is it that will be attempted/undertaken and what makes it innovative

● Detail the steps taken to determine a solution based on the innovation being undertaken

● Provide information about the evaluation of the solution including measured results

● Describe the next steps and conclusion as well as lessons learned

To submit a nomination for this award, for you or another institution, please send a PDF or Word document to office@naccu.org by February 1, 2017. The nomination must include the contact information for the current institutional NACCU member.

Award Selection:

The Innovative Technology Award Sub‐Committee will evaluate and make a recommendation to the full Awards Committee.

The Technology Awards Sub‐Committee will determine results for the award based on whether the entry meets the eligibility requirements as well as demonstrates the innovative technology results and outcomes.  Each entry will be scored on a common scoring method.  The nomination receiving the top score will be the member recommended to the Awards Committee.  The Awards Committee will review and forward the final selection to the NACCU Board for approval. The winner will be announced during the 2017 NACCU Annual Conference. The recipient of the award will receive a complimentary registration for the conference the following year.

Best Marketing Campaign Award
Deadline: February 1, 2017

Purpose of the Best Marketing Campaign Award

To recognize an Institutional Member who has implemented an integrated marketing strategy that achieved measurable results.


Nomination Requirements


Nominees may be self-nominated or nominated by another NACCU Institutional member, or a NACCU Corporate member. All nominees must demonstrate all of the following:

  • Use and integration of three or more of the following marketing elements to promote the visibility and value of an institution's campus card program: Web; Video; Social Media; Print; Promotional Items (SWAG); Contests.

  • Demonstrated return on investment.  Examples may include but are not limited to improved financials (e.g. a chart depicting growth from year to year), enhanced customer service (e.g. letters of commendation or program accolades), and the achievement of a defined department or college/university initiative.


Nomination and Submission Materials


Nominees will submit a written document describing how the institution integrated a variety of marketing initiatives to enhance their campus card’s visibility and value on campus.  Images and examples are encouraged with a maximum of five pages per submission. Submissions should be in .pdf (preferred) or .doc format. Submissions must be received by February 1, 2017.


  • Overall Marketing Strategy/Plan:  What were your objectives, and how were the tools you used linked to those objectives? (Explain what you did and why you did it.) This section is worth 40 points.

  • Creativity: Attach pictures, documents, URLs, or screenshots of the materials used in the campaign. This section is worth 25 points.

  • Measurable Results:  Include statistics, charts or any documentation that illustrates the results of the marketing efforts. This section is worth 25 points.


Lessons learned:  
What worked well, and what could you improve upon next time? This section is worth 10 points.

 

To submit your entry complete the template based on its instructions with a minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 unique elements to office@naccu.org by February 1, 2017. You may include screenshots of pages not publicly accessible.  

 

Award Results

 

The Marketing Awards Committee will evaluate and score each submission based on a common scoring method.The Marketing Subcommittee will narrow down the submissions to the top 3.  The Awards committee will then choose the recommended winner, with the NACCU Board having the final approval on that recommendation.The Board's decision is final.


The recipient of the award will be announced at the NACCU conference.



Best Card Design
Deadline: February 1, 2017

Purpose of the Best Card Design Award


To recognize Institutional Members that have implemented a card design on their respective campus.


Nomination Requirements


Nominations are open for card designs from higher education institutions. Nominees may be self nominated or nominated by another NACCU Institutional member, or a NACCU Corporate member. Nominees will submit entries to the National Office prior to the designated deadline.  


Submission Materials


To submit your card design, send a .jpg of the front and back of your card to office@naccu.org by February 1, 2017. Be sure that the image is a minimum of 72dpi and 600 px wideIn addition, you must mail a hard copy of your card design to the National Office at: NACCU, Best Card Design, National Office, 2226 W Northern Ave, Ste C120, Phoenix, AZ 85021. If your card office offers multiple designs, please ensure to submit your current or incoming student card design only.  


If your design is selected as one of the top five finalists, you should be prepared to submit a high-resolution print-ready card image for use in voting booth graphics at the conference.

 

Award Results


The Marketing Awards Committee will evaluate and score each submission based on a common scoring method. The Marketing Subcommittee will narrow down the submissions to the top five based on the following criteria: Visual Impact, Creativity, Composition, and how well it represents the institution. The top five entries will be published to the membership for open voting both online prior to and in person during the conference.  The National Office will track all voting returns and each member may only vote once. For this award, the nomination receiving the top votes from NACCU membership will be the award recipient.
