BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY

 

Manages and supports all technical operations and system integrity of the GWorld Card system, including programming, installations, and upgrades of GWorld devices, servers and equipment, troubleshooting and resolving issues.

 

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.       Supervises technical staff and oversees all technical operations.

2.       Acts as project manager for all GWorld installations, whether physical or software based.

3.       Is responsible for system integrity and security.

4.       Recommends and implements, under the supervision of the Director, system upgrades, software updates, policy changes, new technologies, training opportunities, and other steps necessary to maintain the highest levels of financial and physical security, as well as system security. 

5.       Participates in the strategic initiatives led by the Director such as improving systems, procedures, inventory controls, technical documentation, etc.

6.       Determines technical requirements and coordinates the preparation of purchase requisitions for card system equipment peripherals, hardware and software to support system growth, additions, changes, etc.

7.       Represents the GWorld Card Office at official campus functions and meetings.

8.       Develops and recommends technical solutions that will improve services and response times provided to the University community.

9.       Is available 24-7 in the case of system emergencies and any issue involving the safety of our cardholders.

10.   Supports the Director of the GWorld Card Office in manner consistent with maximizing revenues, minimizing costs, minimizing downtime, and providing benchmarked levels of customer service to the University community.  Acts as Deputy Director in the event that the Director and Assistant Director are not available or incapacitated.

 

RELATED DUTIES

 

1.       Participates in meetings and committees to provide feedback on issues that may affect the GWorld Card Program, or other activities performed within the GWorld Card Office.

2.       Provides programming, reporting, and other support to the GWorld operation.

3.       Enhances professional skills by attending training sessions, workshops, seminars, and reviewing published literature; ensures the development of staff knowledge, skills, and abilities through training and development assignments.

4.       Prepares estimates and invoices for work performed by the GWorld Office.

5.       Performs other work-related duties as requested.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

 

Administrative and functional supervision is received from the Director, GWorld Card Program.

 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

 

Functional supervision will be exercised over 4-6 staff members. 

 

ENTRY-LEVEL OUALIFICATIONS

 

A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, (or related field), or equivalent combination of education, training and experience is necessary. A good understanding of enterprise systems is preferred.

 

A minimum of two years of professional experience in systems management, analysis, and project management is necessary.  Experience in a system analyst role is preferred.

 

Experience with campus card systems is preferred. 

 

Proficiency in developing reports, both financial and statistical, spreadsheets, and work process documentation is necessary. 

 

Previous supervisory experience is desired.
