Duties:This position reports to the Associate Director. The
Electronics Specialist will perform the following job duties as the
primary field technician for the BuzzCard System:
- Configure, install, maintain, and troubleshoot card reader
devices (Access, Authorization, Copier, Laundry, Point-of-Sale,
Transaction Terminals, and Vending) and associated peripherals.
- Configure, install, maintain, and troubleshoot network
electronics that facilitate communication between card reader
devices and the BuzzCard System.
- Design, layout, and install electronic components required for
the successful integration of card reader devices with third party
devices (Parking Gates, Turnstiles, etc.).
- Provide technical advice and assistance to end-users.
- Prepare reports and technical drawings; document technical
procedures.
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
- Maintain appropriate records and files.
- Responsible for providing after hours (on-call) support on a
rotating basis with other Card Center personnel not to exceed more
than (2) weeks per month.
Education:Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree, or two
years college course work in computer science or a related field, or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:Six or more years of job related experience.
Experience with Blackboard Transaction System-UNIX Edition, DataCard
ID Works, Cyrstal Reports, Cisco PIX Device Manager, and Microsoft
Visio preferred. Selection process will include completion of a
background screening.
