Position, Coordinator ASUN Technology Projects and Support
The University of Nevada, Reno is the state’s historic flagship institution of
higher education. The University has a student enrollment of more than 16,000,
including about 3,200 graduate students, and a total budget of nearly $500

ranging from baccalaureate degrees in more than 75

The University of Nevada was founded in 1874 in Elko as the state’s first
institution of higher education. Relocated to Reno in 1887, the University
remained the state’s only institution of higher education for 75 years. The
first building on the Reno campus, Morrill Hall, is still in use today, and the
campus has grown from a small cluster of buildings surrounding a central
quadrangle (modeled after Thomas Jefferson’s design for the University of
Virginia), to a 250-acre site just north of downtown Reno. The University is one

The Coordinator ASUN Technology Projects and Support reports to and
works closely with the Associate Director, Marketing and Media, to provide
planning, design, installation and maintenance of technology in support of
departmental goals and objectives. The individual oversees all technology
initiatives in support of ASUN/Student Activities programs and services and
coordinates marketing and media publicity efforts for ASUN/Student Activities'
programs, services and approximately 250 campus clubs and organizations.
The Coordinator supervises, student webmaster(s) and the publicity/promotion
center staff of graphic designers. This position monitors the request, purchase
and installation and inventory of all equipment purchased.
The Coordinator directs the daily operations and implementation of technology
efforts integral to operations of various programs including desktop support,
hardware and software (Mac and PC), campus escort communications systems,
campus-wide information monitors, various websites, video casts, podcasts,
departmental tech support, hardware and software needs, online calendar of
events and One Card system technology, phones, credit card machines, assessment
and financial databases, and approximately 30 list serves and ASUN e-mail
addresses
