Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and management for the University identification
card project; set departmental goals and priorities; resolve problems and
adjust departmental activities in response to the changing needs and demands
of the University community.
Plan and coordinate the implementation of services and activities for the
centralized ID card project; establish project milestones, deadlines, risks,
and resource allocation; evaluate and assess project successes and
deficiencies; make recommendations to Division and University leaders.
Select, train, supervise and evaluate office staff; determine and recommend
staffing needs; determine work assignments and work schedules to most
effectively meet the One Card Office needs.
Design and implement One Card database management procedures; insure the
security, currency and stability of One Card databases; arrange for data
synchronization and transfers with key University data managers.
Design and implement installation, management, maintenance, and
troubleshooting procedures for all One Card project hardware, including
servers, workstations, and card readers.
Determine correct network security policies and network configurations;
coordinate the implementation of appropriate network settings with the
appropriate University administrators.
Assesses and coordinates the implementation of efficient and effective
software systems for ID card production, management, usage, and billing.
Manage the day-to-day delivery of the ID card project, including maintenance
of computer systems, files, records, budget, correspondence and reports;
perform office management duties for the One Card Office; direct the work
flow and supervise the necessary administrative paperwork, manage electronic
records and file systems to support the ID card program, including fiscal,
personnel and student records.
Manage the fiscal affairs of the department, including budget development
and priorities; exercise direct fiscal control over approved office budget.
Approve expenditures and prepare budget reports and projections; will set
fees to users, oversee billing and accounting procedures for office.
Develop policies and procedures and communicate to campus constituents and
off campus vendors.
Market future activities and services of the One Card Office; plan and
implement recruiting and promotional strategies to attract university
clients and off campus vendors; assist with the negotiation of contracts
with University clients and off campus vendors.
Collect and analyze program data; evaluate program effectiveness via
qualitative and quantitative measures from clients (departments utilizing
card services and students); identify areas for improvement and institute
changes as appropriate.
Work collaboratively with various units across the university, which utilize
the ID card for service delivery of educational and social activities.
Keep informed about policies, regulations and state and federal laws that
affect ID card management.
Maintain a thorough understanding of card technology, including hardware,
software, and networking; make recommendations for the adoption of new or
improved technologies.
Manage special projects which may be on-going or short-term, may generate
revenue, and which require planning, coordination, supervision and thorough
knowledge of the ID card system including knowledge and understanding of
technical systems and equipment; or studying new methods for providing
services and/or improve efficiency for integrated card functions.
Serve as a member of the Division of Student Affairs Team. Perform related
duties as required.
