The New School
The New School is seeking an individual for the position of Director of Campus Card Services to manage its newcard program. The "newcard" is the university's vehicle for identification, security/access, dining and various campus services. This highly visible position will report to the Senior Director of Business Operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with the planning, implementation, and direction of a comparable organization-wide program. The ability to manage complex projects and provide fiscal oversight and management including budgeting, business development, and marketing is essential.
Responsibilities
· Complete responsibility for all aspects of university-wide campus card program;
· Oversee the completion of implementation phase including infrastructure/database/application management.
· Work with key stakeholders including IT, food service, business operations, housing, security, accounting, merchant partners and others to maximize program service, utility and overall value to the community.
· Monitor compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations and university policies and procedures.
· Prepare and maintain detailed policy and procedure manuals for the campus card operation, including attention to appropriate internal controls;
· Prepare detailed specialized financial reports, including revenue projections/tracking, budgeting, and reconciliations of card activity;
· Identify and recommend additional business opportunities utilizing the campus card;
· Develop and implement a marketing plan; and act as ambassador (internally and externally) for the program.
· Set up privileges, accounts, and cardholder groups, providing a help function to deal with problems;
· Manage and develop an expert staff to optimize customer service.
Qualifications:
· A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, masters degree preferred;
· Experience (minimum 3 to 5 years) with the planning, implementation, and management of an enterprise-wide card system or comparable program. (Familiarity with applications such as identification, building access, box office, bookstore, ancillary services ( i.e. vending, laundry, library, food service and retail operations a plus).
· Excellent business and financial skills;
· Excellent organization, communication and presentation skills are essential.
· Experience working with a sophisticated computer-based system - familiarity with SCT Banner's (Oracle based) financial information systems and Brio reporting tools and a plus;
· A flexible, team-oriented, collegial attitude;
· Ability to structure and prioritize multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines;
· Excellent customer service skills.
